Jungle Gym is a trailblazing artist collective that aims to make performance art—and life in general—fun again.
Their cultural work and community engagements seek to restore and empower the inner child in everyone, while exploring the intersections of art, games, and social justice.
In order to get their projects off the ground, how can we establish the group’s credibility & online presence?
The Solution
While Jungle Gym had an initial social media presence already, they needed a website where they could showcase:

- what’s been accomplished so far,
- who’s behind the team, and

A New Online Home
Most users are directed to the site from social media posts with a call to Register to an Event or Subscribe to the Newsletter.
Keeping this in mind, the website design prioritized presenting event information efficiently and making forms easy to fill up and submit. I also incorporated their existing brand of vibrant colors and playful shapes into the design, which was done through Figma.
After the design phase, we moved onto developing the site on WordPress. We chose the open-source CMS for its affordability, flexibility, and ease of use for the team after turnover.
Since the website launched, Jungle Gym Play Lab has hosted numerous workshops, training camps, RPG sessions, and more, all the while growing their community of artists. They have been awarded their residency grant for the second year in a row for these accomplishments.
