About the Client
Jungle Gym is a a playground for developing multi-arts performances and collective creations that explore the intersections of art, games, and social justice. Their cultural work and community engagements seek to restore and empower the inner child in everyone.
The Brief
Create a website where users can sign up to workshops, all the while showcasing who this passionate team is and what they have accomplished so far.
The Solution
Most users are directed to the site from social media posts with a call to Register to an Event or Subscribe to the Newsletter.
Keeping this in mind, the website design prioritized presenting event information efficiently and making forms easy to fill up and submit. I also incorporated their existing brand of vibrant colors and playful shapes into the design, which was done through Figma.
After the design phase, we moved onto developing the site on WordPress. We chose the open-source CMS for its affordability, flexibility, and ease of use for the team after turnover.
Since the website launched, Jungle Gym Play Lab has hosted numerous workshops, training camps, RPG sessions, and more, all the while growing their community of artists. They have been awarded their residency grant for the second year in a row for these accomplishments.
